The board voted with a majority to operate an exhibitor booth at the GR2012 Celebrating Sustainability Festival held at Joliet Junior College on Saturday May 19. Purpose: Attract membership, provide education and information, maintain a visible presence among our community. Cost $25. http://www.celebratingsustainability.com/

YES, the Will County Beekeepers Association (WillBees.org) is delighted to send a few representatives (myself included) to GR2012:Celebrating Sustainability on May 19th to exhibit at a booth and provide information/answer questions about:

  • - What is beekeeping?
  • - How is it beneficial/how does it contribute to sustainability?
  • - What equipment is required?
  • - What products do bees make?
  • - How to get started/Where to learn more?
  • - and more

We will have an empty beehive and other educational materials. We will have examples of different honey and pollen and wax products. Will we need to bring our own table or will one be provided? Is there electricity available if we wanted to have a computer w/slideshow?
